A lot of times, entertaining means not only hosting guests for a meal or a party, but hosting them in your home overnight or for a weekend. In these instances, making them feel comfortable and relaxed is of key importance.

I leave a bedside carafe (similar to the one you pictured), filled with fresh water for our guests.
Jenny has the BEST basket in her guest room filled with every sample sized toiletry you could imagine. I love it. -LG

That carafe is from Williams Sonoma. I have also seen them at Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn.
