Wedding Wednesday: Colors

Has anyone seen the color wheel on Elegant Bride's website? I realized pretty quickly that most wedding magazines are a waste of money, but I did find a yellow and navy blue feature in this one that I really like. I went to their website and- ta-da- a virtual color wheel where you can spin to see different combinations. I'm going to be honest here: while I understand and appreciate that the "wedding colors" give continuity, I also think it's pretty silly that my best friends have to match the tables. Despite that, the color wheel is a little bit mesmerizing and I imagine it could be useful in other contexts. Robin's Egg, Pearl, and Silver? Ooo, pretty! Magenta, Violet, and Orange? Hmm, maybe a bit adventurous. Etc etc etc. What did I think about before the engagement?

It's amazing how so many of the magazines become irrelevant once the ceremony location and venue site are reserved. A few articles are informative and the pictures are pretty - but otherwise, all that information is over-whelming and part of the "wedding racket" that industry has become over the years.

It is hard to beat the MS Wedding magazines for the flower layouts and ideas. They are always gorgeous.

i found several ideas for my wedding flowers in a bridal magazine...aside from a lot of irrelevant material inside most of these magazines, you can get some good ideas.
